Wakana Yakiniku

Japanese$$

If you're in the mood for taking up the tongs and setting your tucker sizzling, then pull up a seat by a grill plate and choose from a selection of sliced meats, seafood and vegies. Three sauces will quickly arrive at your table - barbecue, sesame and vinegar-based - along with a small, tangy salad plate of lettuce and seaweed. The wagyu beef and salmon are finely marbled and surprisingly special, perfect when lightly grilled. If you'd prefer to leave the cooking to the experts, a range of teriyaki, tempura, sushi and sashimi is on offer. Whichever way you choose to dine, the cream croquettes, with their thin, crunchy coating and superbly smooth potato filling, are a great starter.
